ROBOTICS & TVET
TECHNOLOGY TO EMPOWER HUMANITY being the institute’s motto is what empowers this club, our trainees and institute in general.
This club aims at coming up with practical solutions to problems that are encountered in our day to day activities. This is achieved through creativity, innovation and use of science. Creative problem solving gives that competitive edge that any project is striving to achieve.
The institute has been participating in TVET fair with exemplary performance in the various categories. Notable ICT & Business, Building & Civil, Electrical & Electronic and Applied Sciences
In 2017 the institute participated for the first time in the year’s TVET and Robotics competition. In TVET the instititute managed to scoop the third position in the applied science category which proceeded for the National competition. Under ROBOTICS we managed to develop two robots: Gachagua one and Gachagua two which were in honor of the late Nyeri Governor. Becoming the only institution in the country to developed two robots at a competition.
The two robots fared well in the regional competition held at Embu Municipal stadium and proceeded to national competition held at Nakuru where Gachagua one scooped ninth position country wide.
This was quite an impressive performance being the first time that the institution was involved in such a competition.
The institution has a well facilitated Robotic Center and a ROBOTICS club which is dedicated to research and innovation
