Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)
This body was established in the year 1980 under the Kenya National Examination Council Act Cap 225A of the Kenyan laws. It was later repealed back in the year 2012 and substituted with KNEC Act No.29 of 2012. KNEC was established so as to take over the tasks previously carried out by the then non-operational East Africa Examinations Council. It was intended to conduct national examination in primary, secondary and technical schools education that were under the Ministry of education in the country so as to ensure reliability and validity in national examination.
The main Functions of Kenya National Examination Council.
The main functions on KNEC are:
Develop tests of national examination for the candidates
Register students for national examination
Conduct supervision of examination and process the candidate results.
KNEC has taken the responsibility to register our student for final year and offer final examination to all our students every year. In addition, KNEC ensure that our students get the certificate after completion of each module
